Beyond the Brush: Practical Strategies not taught in Art School to Running an Art Business

When I was in art school the style of teaching was basically, do it like me. The professors were uninspired, the critics were harsh and you were given no practical tools on marketing or running a business. I really had no idea what to expect after graduation. So like many fellow artists I started to teach…and LOVED it! BUT, I wanted more. So I started my own art school and business. Easier said than done! The first thing I had to learn was business. That is were Matt Tommy comes in. I joined his mentoring program a few years ago because there was so much I didn’t know! Oh sure I can paint and draw, but then what!? So if you are struggling with the what now, I would encourage you to join a mentoring program like this. https://www.matttommeymentoring.com/

The thing I have learned the most is it’s not enough to be just an artist. There are 2 other parts of me now. The Marketer and the Business woman. I am still learning a lot about both, but I am loving the journey!
